You are visiting the website of J.A.Helwing Grammar School in Węgorzewo.

We started our work on the 1st of September 1999 in the main building. In September 2000 we got one more „wing” to the main building. On the 2nd of September 2002 the solemnly opening Cremony of the new gymnasium took place (you can have a look at it on the site 2002/2003 ).

262 third class students took their first grammar school exam (all students) and 261 students finished the school on the 21st of June 2002.

In 2000/2001 there were 545 students, 45 teachers and 8 staff-members.
In 2001/2002 – 812 students, 61 teachers and 8 stuff.
In 2002/2003 – 781 students
In 2003/2004 – 672 students ( that year we started without our branch in Radzieje which became independent).
In 2004/2005 – 646 students.
In 2005/2006 – 653 students.
In 2006/2007 – 648 students.
In 2007/2008 – 620 students.
In 2008/2009 – 562 students.
In 2009/2010 – 524 students.
In 2010/2011 – 506 students.
In 2011/2012 – 502 students.
In 2012/2013 – 479 students.
In 2013/2014 – 443 students.
In 2014/2015 – 401 students.
In 2015/2016 – 392 students.
In 2016/2017 – 402 students.

The principal of the school is Mrs Maria Chludzinska and Mr Andrzej Zubkowicz are deputy directors.

Actually 269 students attend the school (12 classes) and 37 teachers and 8 stuff work here.
